This book constitutes the identification tests of various functional groups, purification technique using thin layer chromatography. This book also includes the melting point determination of pure and impure solid compounds as well as the synthesis of various organic intermediates and products using the concept of organic chemistry. The purpose of this book is to cover maximum functional group identification tests and synthetic approaches. Students will be able to develop skills to identify functional group present in unknown sample and to perform chemical reacton to afford pure organic products. This book will be helpful to students to gather knowledge and skill of organic name reactions, mechanism and concept of product formation. This book is designed especially for pharmacy, allied science, and basic science students. It covers all experiments that are required to understand as per PCI syllabus of organic chemistry for B. Pharm. first year and diploma courses as well as for B.Sc, M.Sc and B.Tech students. The editor and authors are confident that this book will satisfy the necessity of students, teachers and researchers. Any suggestions for the improvement of this book are most welcome.
