Abstract : According to estimates provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 220 million children aged 1 to 14 in India are at risk of parasitic intestinal worms, referred to as Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH). This constitutes around 68% of children within this age group and roughly 28% of the global population of children susceptible to STH infections. The transmission of these worms is associated with inadequate sanitation and hygiene conditions, primarily spreading among children through contact with contaminated soil. Persistent worm infections can have extensive and debilitating consequences, leading to conditions such as anemia and under-nutrition, hampering both mental and physical development. Implementing safe and effective deworming treatments for children in schools and Anganwadi, especially in areas where parasitic worms are prevalent, is considered a cost-effective strategy with significant positive impacts on educational and economic outcomes [1][2].
